Tel Aviv issued a warning for Israelis residing in India, especially in New Delhi, stating that there’s a chance the explosion close to the Israeli embassy in Delhi is an act of terror. Israelis are advised not to go to crowded locations like markets and malls, especially ones that are frequented by members of the community. They are also asked to “avoid externalizing Israeli symbols” and remain vigilant.

“Avoid taking part in large-scale, unsafe events with a lot of people. The advice advises against sharing trip information on social media and instead to share images and information about visits both in advance and during the trip.

Last night, there was an explosion close to the Israel embassy in Chanakyapuri. According to officials, no one was hurt in the incident. They also mentioned the discovery of a “abusive” letter addressed to the Israeli ambassador close to the scene.

Teams from the forensics department, bomb disposal squad, dog squad, and crime branch of the Delhi Police hurried to the scene shortly after the explosion.

A National Investigation Agency team also looked over the site.

Guy Nir, a spokesman for the Israeli embassy, reported that the explosion happened at 5:48 p.m. “Delhi Police and the security team are still investigating the situation,” he stated.

“All of our diplomats and employees are safe,” stated Ohad Nakash Kaynar, Deputy Chief of Mission (Israel). Our security teams are fully cooperating with the Delhi police and will look into the situation further.”

According to reports, the one-page letter was sent for forensic analysis to look for fingerprints.
