A 24-year-old woman was discovered dead in her rented residence in the Dabri area of Delhi’s Dwarka district on Friday, according to the police.

Authorities suspect her cab driver to be involved in the murder, as he is currently missing.

“On Friday, Dabri Police Station received a report regarding the woman’s murder. Officers arrived at the scene and found the decomposing body of the victim, identified as Deepa, inside the bedroom,” a police official stated.

Deepa had been residing with her husband, whom she married five years ago, in the rented accommodation.

Her father, Ashok Chauhan, lodged a complaint accusing her husband, Dhanraj, of being responsible for her death.

“A murder case has been filed, and a thorough investigation is underway. As the victim’s husband is on the run, multiple teams have been deployed to locate and arrest him,” the officer added.

The couple’s two-year-old child currently resides with Deepa’s maternal uncle, he noted.
