March 13 marks the fourteenth day of the ongoing war between the United States, Israel, and Iran, a conflict that began on February 28 with coordinated US and Israeli strikes on Iranian military and nuclear targets.

Since the start of the offensive, the fighting has intensified across the region. Reports indicate that around 2,000 people have lost their lives during the airstrikes on Iran, highlighting the severe humanitarian impact of the conflict in just two weeks.

As the war continues, the United States is reportedly facing significant financial costs and the depletion of military resources, while Iran has shown no signs of retreating or softening its stance. Tehran has continued to respond with retaliatory actions and remains determined to resist the joint US–Israeli campaign.

Amid the escalating situation, former US National Security Adviser John Bolton has sharply criticised US President Donald Trump for what he describes as a serious miscalculation in handling Iran. Bolton argued that the administration seemed to believe it could quickly trigger regime change in Iran, similar to attempts made by the United States in Venezuela.

However, Bolton warned that such comparisons are deeply flawed, emphasizing that Iran’s political and military structure is far more complex and resistant to external pressure. According to him, expecting a swift collapse of Iran’s leadership reflects a misunderstanding of the region’s geopolitical realities.

Bolton further accused President Trump of lacking a long-term strategic plan for managing the conflict, suggesting that the current approach risks prolonging the war without achieving a clear outcome. As tensions remain high and international concerns grow, analysts warn that the conflict could continue to escalate if diplomatic solutions are not pursued soon.
