One person was killed and another critically injured after a speeding car struck two workers in Mumbai, the police confirmed on Saturday.

The two victims, associated with the Mulund Cha Raja Ganpati Mandal, were hit by the car early Saturday morning at around 4 AM, resulting in one fatality and the other in serious condition. The accident occurred on the second day of Ganesh Chaturthi. The police are currently investigating the incident.

According to officials, the Navghar police have filed a case and are actively searching for the driver involved.

“A speeding car hit two workers from the Mulund Cha Raja Ganpati Mandal, leaving one dead and another critically injured. The incident occurred at 4:00 AM. A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to locate the driver,” read the statement from the Mumbai Police.
