The largest “iPhone partner in India” of Apple enters the North American market.According to reports, Tata Electronics is hiring more than two dozen technical and sales personnel in an effort to increase its footprint in North America, especially in California. The contract manufacturing division of the Tata Group stated in a LinkedIn post that the organization is focused on “engineering excellence, product reliability, and driving business growth.” In order to purchase a 100% equity position in Wistron InfoComm Manufacturing (India) Private Limited (WMMI), Tata Electronics signed a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) in November 2023. Tata Group became the first Indian company to produce Apple iPhones as a result of the relationship. Bengaluru is close to the Wistron facility.

Tata Electronics revealed last month that it has acquired a 60% controlling interest in Pegatron Technology India Private Limited, a division of the massive Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Pegatron Corporation. A new iPhone plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, is also being invested in by the Tata Group firm; commercial production is anticipated to begin later this year.

“Lead business development efforts to acquire new customers for our OSAT services,” according to the job description provided by the corporation. The JD goes on to say, “Create new leads and lead them through different stages of business development, such as nondisclosure agreement (NDA), promotion, follow-up in-depths, request for quote (RFQ)/quotation, and contracting, which ends with a design award.”

In addition to sales, Tata Electronics is looking for hardware enterprise program managers for Mobile Electronics/EMS, customer engineering managers with expertise in semiconductor supply chain and test/EV automotive electronics, and hardware electronics engineers in EMS. Additionally, these jobs are dispersed throughout California. The position of “primary technical point of contact for a major global customer based in the SF Bay Area,” according to one job advertisement, including daily customer engagement and program management.

This expansion comes after previous strategic decisions made by Tata Electronics, such as the employment of Bhavna Madhwal and Scott Holden to head US hiring initiatives and the hire of important Intel employees, including Reda Masarwa as senior vice president for construction and facilities. Additionally, the business has been aggressively seeking acquisitions, such as acquiring Wistron’s India operations and a majority share in Pegatron Technology India.
