Voting in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections for 88 seats across 13 states has begun. All eyes are on Kerala, where polling is underway in all 20 seats. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged citizens, particularly young and female voters, to vote in “record numbers”.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has received over 290 complaints in Bengal, the most of which are over EVM malfunctioning. In a letter to the electoral board, the governing Trinamool Congress demanded prompt action. However, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar lambasted the party, claiming that courts have previously stated that there is nothing wrong with the EVMs, yet individuals continue to doubt them.

The second round of Lok Sabha polls is currently underway in 88 seats across 13 states, including all 20 constituencies in Kerala and 14 of 28 seats in Karnataka. Additionally, polling is taking place in Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Bengal, Manipur, Tripura, and Jammu & Kashmir.
