A diamond necklace valued at over a lakh was stolen from Bollywood actor Poonam Dhillon’s residence in Mumbai’s Khar on Monday. Along with the necklace, the thief also made off with ₹35,000 in cash and some foreign currency.

The suspect, 37-year-old Sameer Ansari, was part of a team hired to paint the flat and had been working at the property between December 28 and January 5. He reportedly took advantage of an unlocked cupboard to commit the theft.

While Dhillon primarily resides in Juhu, her son Anmol lives in the Khar apartment, where she stays occasionally.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Ansari exploited the opportunity when he found the cupboard open. Reports indicate he even used some of the stolen money to host a party.

On the professional front, Poonam Dhillon last appeared in Jai Mummy Di, co-starring Sonnalli Seygall and Sunny Singh. Her notable filmography includes Pathar Ke Insan, Jai Shiv Shankar, Ramaiya Vastavaiya, and Batwara, among others.
