The Hindu was informed by Superintendent of Police Aman Singh Rathore that an Indian Air Force plane had crashed in the Shivpuri area of Madhya Pradesh.

According to Mr. Rathore, the two pilots were safely ejected from the aircraft and suffered just minor wounds.

The Mirage-2000 plane crashed close to the Karera settlement of Shivpuri after taking off from the Gwalior Airbase.

Following an aircraft crash, the IAF initiated an inquiry.

According to Mr. Rathore, the pilots would be traveling with an IAF team from Gwalior that has arrived in Shivpuri. In an X post, the IAF stated that it had ordered an investigation to determine the reason of the event.

A technical failure caused an IAF Mirage 2000 aircraft to crash today during a routine training sortie close to Shivpuri (Gwalior). Both pilots safely evacuated.

The IAF has requested an investigation to determine what caused the tragedy.

According to the IAF, a system failure during a routine sortie caused the disaster.

“An IAF Mirage 2000 aircraft experienced a system failure and crashed today during a routine training sortie near Shivpuri (Gwalior).” The IAF said, “Both pilots safely ejected.”

“The IAF has ordered an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.”
