The route to Yamuna Bank metro station was closed due to a rise in the Yamuna’s water level, which has had an impact on Delhi Metro services.

The Yamuna Bank station is unavailable, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) tweeted. This Blue Line station serves as a hub for transfers between Noida and Ghaziabad. The transfer facility is unaffected, according to clarification from the Metro administration.

The approach road leading to Yamuna Bank Metro Station is currently unavailable due to the Yamuna River’s rising flood levels. Please make your travel arrangements accordingly and think about alternate routes. However, there is an interchange facility,” the DMRC said.

Given that numerous major roads in the national capital are under water and as a result, there are already severe traffic bottlenecks on other routes, a further impact on Metro services could potentially paralyse mobility in the city.

Yamuna’s water level was 208.46 metres at 7 am today as water from Haryana’s Hathnikund barrage continued to be released into the river. The water is currently three metres over the danger level.

Schools in the vicinity were forced to close due to the flood-like conditions, and three water treatment facilities were shut down.
