After a series of strong earthquakes struck the island nation, “RRR” star Jr. NTR announced on Tuesday morning that he had returned from Japan and wished for a speedy recovery.

At least eight people have died as a result of the earthquakes that rocked western Japan, damaging cars, buildings, and boats. Authorities in some areas issued a warning on Tuesday to avoid going near their homes due to the possibility of more powerful earthquakes.

After spending the past week in Japan, Jr. NTR expressed on X that he was “deeply shocked” by the country’s earthquakes.

“Back home today from Japan and deeply shocked by the earthquakes hitting. Spent the entire last week there, and my heart goes out to everyone affected. Grateful for the resilience of the people and hoping for a swift recovery. Stay strong, Japan,” the actor wrote on the microblogging site.

When “RRR”, a historical action drama starring Ram Charan, was released in Japan in 2022, it became the highest grossing Indian movie. In Japan, the SS Rajamouli-directed film brought in more than 410 million yen, or roughly Rs 24.13 crore.

The biggest of the seven-and-a-half-magnitude earthquakes that struck on Monday also caused buildings on Honshu, the main island of Japan, to collapse and catch fire. As a result, the nation canceled its highest-level tsunami alert, which it had issued after a string of powerful earthquakes.

One day after a magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck the region on Monday afternoon, aftershocks were still felt in Ishikawa prefecture and the surrounding areas.

Eight confirmed deaths have occurred in Wajima City, according to officials. According to them, homes suffered damage so severe that it was not possible to evaluate it right away, and seven more people suffered serious injuries.

According to the Kyodo news agency, at least 13 deaths have been verified.
