In the Datia district of Madhya Pradesh, a truck transporting a wedding party slid into a river, killing five people, three of them children.
When the truck arrived in Buhara village late yesterday evening, one of its wheels fell into a nearby river. Among those deceased were a 65-year-old woman, an 18-year-old guy, and three toddlers and young children. The rescue effort is still in progress, according to Narottam Mishra, the home minister for Madhya Pradesh.
Following the catastrophe, 24 people have reported injuries, and several kids are said to be missing.
The deceased were Bilheti village people from Gwalior who were travelling to Jatara in Tikamgarh for their daughter’s wedding.
The truck is visible along the river bank in photos taken at the scene of the accident.
