Pezhman Shoghi’s life is a testament to resilience, perseverance, and transformation. Born in Iran, raised in India, and now settled in Norway, she has overcome immense hardships with unwavering determination.
Her life turned dramatically when, when only 10, her family had to leave before the Iranian revolution 1975 and could not return back because of the revolution 1979 and the religion Bahai. They became refugees in India, with no knowledge of Hindi or English. Yet, through sheer dedication, she mastered multiple languages and excelled academically despite financial struggles.
After facing personal and financial turmoil—including becoming a refugee once again in Norway in 2001—she took on various jobs while studying at night to master Norwegian. Her relentless effort led her to become the first overseas refugee appointed as a teacher in a Norwegian government school.

Her passion for education drove her to earn a master’s degree in Assessment and Evaluation from York, England, and contribute to international projects like the European Language Portfolio. Beyond academics, she served as a Lay Judge, co-authored an English textbook for adult immigrants, and represented the Indian government in Norway, promoting handloom and handicrafts.

In 2007, she battled depression, overcoming suicidal tendencies with the support of her children and doctors. Prioritizing well-being, she chose early retirement to follow her passion—drama. Today, Pezhman is making her mark as an emerging actor and international personality.
Pezhman Shoghi’s extraordinary journey of reinvention continues to inspire people worldwide, proving that persistence and courage can turn adversity into triumph.
