Comrade Jagdish Kuliyal Raises Concerns Over Corporate Influence, Unemployment and Public Services

The Communist Party of India (CPI) organised a major public rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan to protest against what the party described as the “anti-people” policies of the Central Government. Party workers, representatives and members of the public from different parts of the country participated in the rally.
Addressing the gathering, Comrade Jagdish Kuliyal, State Secretary of the Communist Party of India, Uttarakhand, criticised the BJP-led Central Government over its economic and social policies. He alleged that government policies are increasingly favouring a limited number of large corporate and business groups, while ordinary citizens are facing growing economic pressures.
Kuliyal expressed concern over unemployment, the weakening of public education and healthcare systems, and the increasing role of private and corporate interests in sectors traditionally associated with public institutions. He also criticised the government over the corporatisation of public sector undertakings, arguing that such policies could affect the interests of workers and the wider public.
Speaking about the country’s broader situation, Kuliyal said that India is facing serious social, political and economic challenges. He pointed to unemployment, concerns surrounding examination paper leaks, the condition of public education and healthcare, and the delay in implementing the women’s reservation law as issues requiring greater attention.
He said that the concerns of students, farmers, workers and economically weaker sections should remain central to policymaking. According to him, students need a transparent and reliable examination system, while farmers require fair and remunerative prices for their agricultural produce.
The CPI is also holding a two-day Central Committee meeting, during which the party is discussing strategies concerning several national issues. The deliberations include matters related to students and examinations, farmers’ demands, employment, public services and the economic concerns of ordinary citizens.
The Delhi rally reflects the CPI’s continuing campaign against policies that the party believes are adversely affecting workers, farmers, students and other sections of society. Comrade Jagdish Kuliyal called for greater focus on public welfare, social justice and the protection of citizens’ economic and democratic rights.
