Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has heaped massive praise on Dhurandhar 2, calling it a landmark film that could redefine the future of cinema. After watching the film, Varma described it as the “birth of a new cinematic order,” claiming its impact would surpass some of Indian cinema’s greatest classics like Mughal-e-Azam and Sholay.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has left Varma deeply impressed with its scale, storytelling, and overall cinematic experience. He stated that Dhurandhar 2 delivers a powerful audio-visual impact, breaks conventional filmmaking grammar, and is likely to generate massive audience excitement and box office success.
Taking his praise even further, Varma suggested that the film is so impactful that even global filmmakers like Steven Spielberg and Christopher Nolan should watch it on its opening day.
Ahead of its release, Varma also predicted that if the film earns between ₹1,500–2,000 crore, it could disrupt the dominance of South Indian films at the box office. He believes audiences are already emotionally invested in the story and characters from the first part, especially since both installments were shot together, giving it a seamless narrative flow—similar to the Baahubali franchise.
The film has also been heavily promoted across South India, with Varma emphasizing its grounded action and realistic approach as a key strength.
Dhurandhar 2 is set to hit theatres tomorrow, with paid previews already underway. The film stars Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt, who reprise their roles in this highly anticipated sequel.
