According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi had a minimum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius today, with moderate rain forecast throughout the day.

The national capital is experiencing historic floods as a result of the Yamuna river overflowing its banks as a result of days of heavy rainfall in the upper catchment areas. The weather service has issued a “yellow” signal for showers in the area.

A “yellow” signal denotes inclement weather that could get worse and impair daily operations.

Rains may cause the Yamuna, which has been running above the danger line of 205.33 metres for days, to climb in water levels.

The Yamuna’s water level dropped from its height of 208.66 metres at 8 p.m. on Thursday to 207.62 metres by 7 a.m. on Saturday, according to the Central Water Commission.

At 8:30 p.m., the relative humidity in Delhi was 85%.

According to the IMD, the city’s maximum temperature would probably hover around 33 degrees Celsius.

At 9 am, the Central Pollution Control Board’s statistics indicated that Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was reported in the “satisfactory” category with a rating of 94.

An AQI of 0 to 50 is regarded as “good,” 51 to 100 as “satisfactory,” 101 to 200 as “moderate,” 201 to 300 as “poor,” 301 to 400 as “very poor,” and 401 to 500 as “severe.”
