Microsoft has announced that all users will now have unlimited access to Copilot Voice and Think Deeper, enhancing AI-powered conversations and reasoning within its free-tier Copilot chatbot. This expansion follows the integration of OpenAI’s o1 reasoning model, delivering a more advanced experience akin to OpenAI’s Deep Research and Advanced Voice Mode.
Unrestricted Access to Copilot Voice and Think Deeper
Previously limited, these features are now fully available to all users. Copilot Voice enables natural, real-time interactions with the AI, allowing users to interrupt responses, ask follow-up questions, and engage in dynamic discussions. It proves especially useful for language practice, job interview preparation, or hands-free assistance while cooking.
Think Deeper functions similarly to ChatGPT’s Deep Research, handling complex queries related to major purchases, financial decisions, and career planning. Due to the intricate nature of these responses, processing times may be slightly longer. Microsoft lifted restrictions following growing user demand for more in-depth conversations.
Strengthening Microsoft’s Position in the AI Market
The decision to provide free, unlimited access to these features aligns with the industry trend of making AI tools more accessible. It may also serve as a strategic move against rising competition from AI models like China’s DeepSeek. By broadening access, Microsoft aims to reinforce Copilot’s role in the evolving AI landscape.
While free users now benefit from these enhancements, Copilot Pro subscribers will continue to enjoy perks such as priority access to the latest AI models, early experimental features, and additional AI functionalities in Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Microsoft has acknowledged that despite removing usage limits, users may still face occasional delays due to high demand, security measures, or policy enforcement. However, the company remains committed to scaling its AI capabilities and expanding availability to even more users in the future.
